Canvas and objects

Click to select. Shift or Ctrl / Cmd-click adds or removes objects. Drag empty space for a marquee selection; Ctrl selection highlights during the gesture. Selected objects have blue outlines and resize handles that stay usable at different zoom levels.

• Group objects to move them together, or enter the group to edit a member.
• Copy, cut, paste and duplicate preserve content and styling. The object clipboard is internal to Presentor.
• Arrange supports layers, alignment and distribution.
• The inspector and ribbon both change text color.
• Context menus display the actual assigned shortcuts.

Insert rectangles, ellipses, triangles, diamonds, parallelograms, segments and arrows with the crosshair tool. Drawing may start outside the slide. Double-click a closed shape to type; empty text boxes retain a faint outline. Shape text starts centered. Fixed-height text can align top, middle or bottom.

Segments retain their direction. Select no arrow, one arrow or arrows at both ends, or swap endpoints. Existing horizontal lines keep their old representation.

Creation and dragging snap to nearby edges and centers. Hold Alt to suspend snapping. Tolerance is measured in screen pixels.

The compact nine-point anchor selects a reference point without moving the object. Bottom-right controls fit the slide, show rulers and accept a zoom percentage. View → Guides opens horizontal and vertical guide controls; drag a guide to move it. Experimental grid snapping is an explicit page setting for creation, movement and resizing. The normal workspace has no background grid.

Design checks flag measurable layout risks.

Double-click a group to select a member; double-click again to edit its text. Ctrl-click (Windows) or Cmd-click (macOS) selects a member directly. Escape exits the group. Move, copy and delete apply to the current selection.

Rectangle radius and smoothing are separate controls; ellipses keep their own tool. Set a nonzero radius before changing smoothing. Editing, presentation and SVG selection export use the same curve.

Research result

Effects provides strikethrough, shadows, inner/outer glow and soft edges. Color, radius and strength remain independent. Home includes the clipboard group, format painter, and literal find/replace across text and math source. Locked matches are visibly excluded from replacement.

Sections add a heading at the current slide. Duplicating a slide does not copy its section heading. Section collapse and whole-section dragging are not implemented. See layers and comments for visibility, locking and feedback.

Document grids and shared templates

Document grids in this 1.0.0-rc.6 update save named slots such as title, body and columns. Choose a grid preset in canvas properties, then edit slot position, dimensions and fit mode. Percentages resolve against the document canvas. Select either the document or the current slide as the editing scope.

Select a text box and choose its Layout slot, or enable the grid and drag it near a free slot. Slot edits update bound objects. Automatic line height remains independent. Moving, resizing or changing the anchor releases the binding; Alt bypasses drag snapping. Duplicate occupancy and missing references report errors. Images and media require Position only to preserve their dimensions and aspect ratio.

Shared templates can save grids through the same editor. Layout priority is slide, shared template, then document. Existing documents do not receive a grid automatically. Slide duplication preserves bindings; object duplication on the same slide releases them. Pasting across slides requires a matching free slot at the destination. Grid lines are editor-only; reopening, presentation and export use the resolved document layout.
